Life Coaching Vs. Therapy: Which is best for me?

This is an important question and great place to start. While it can be confusing on the surface there are concrete differences. Let’s explore a little more… 

What does a life coach do? 

A life coach works in the present and the future. A life coach works with a client (YOU) toward a goal determined by you. A life coach provides powerful questioning to help you determine your next step and provides accountability. It doesn’t work on past issues or underlying issues. It is action based and solution oriented. Life coaching works within a timeline, generally 3-6 months. 

What does a therapist do? 

Therapy is a place to resolve issues from the past in order to overcome barriers or trauma you have experienced. Therapists often discuss old wounds and can diagnose mental health disorders. Therapy’s goal is to help the client heal to live a manageable and more harmonious life.
